Sheila has over 20 years’ experience as a turnaround CEO, Executive Director, Marketing & Business Development professional, Political Consultant and Lobbyist with for profit and nonprofit organizations. Her areas of expertise include organizational leadership, staff training and development, team building, organizational restructuring, strategic planning, government affairs, public relations, communications and marketing.
Sheila has served as the CEO of Mentors of Minorities in Education, Trailways Transportation System, Boys and Girls Club of Durham and Orange Counties, Poe Center for Health Education, American Heart Association and the Savannah Hospitality Association. In addition to owning her own consulting firm, Lions Share Consulting she spent her early career as a paid political consultant for local and state wide candidates in the State of Georgia, the Vice President of Development for the American Red Cross and an Account Executive for Charter Behavioral Health Care.
Sheila has twice been named the first woman and Caucasian CEO to lead two predominately African American non-profit organizations in Washington, DC and Durham, NC. She has a passion for creating diverse, healthy, inclusive work cultures, which is why she joined Legacy Business Cultures as its’ full-time Chief Operating Officer in 2016.
In her spare time, she is a member of the Annapolis Rotary Club, Association of Meeting Planners, Association of Talent Development, Maryland Chamber of Commerce, Washington DC Chapter of SHRM and the Training Officers Consortium. She is a past board member Chancellor’s Healthy Advisory Council, Duke University Health System, Board of Trustee’s Adventure Science Center, past board member of the National Association of Health Education Centers and American Red Cross.
Sheila holds a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Valdosta State University.
