Dr. Helen Holton, a passionate and committed Executive Leadership Coach and Consultant, works with leaders and teams to build resilience and engage the upside of diversity and inclusion.

In December 2016, Dr. Holton retired from the Baltimore City Council after 21-years of dedicated service and reclaimed her entrepreneurial spirit. Since June 2014, Dr. Helen has provided operational leadership to the National Organization of Black County Officials, Inc. (NOBCO), a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. As an elected official for more than two decades she brings a wealth of knowledge, information, and expertise to support the mission of NOBCO.

Whether presiding over meetings, managing diverse panel conversations, or leading controversial discussions, you feel included and valued for your contributions. As a board member of the National Association of Counties (NACo), National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO), and National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) Helen broadened her perspective on common issues of concern across the nation, while expanding her outreach and networks. A three-time recipient of Maryland’s Top 100 Women placed her in the Circle of Excellence as a sustaining outstanding leader; one of many accomplishments.

Dr. Holton received her undergraduate degree in Accounting from Morgan State University and the University of Baltimore. Attaining her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation taught her the value of professional credentials. She’s a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) and the Carey Business School’s Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree. Developing expertise as an administrative executive Helen attained her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification. Coaching others through life and leadership for many years led to formal training as a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), Certified Personal and Executive Coach (CPEC), and a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach and Trainer. Dr. Helen is a credentialed Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF), the globally recognized credentialing organization that sets the standard for professional coaching. Dr. Holton’s institutional education came full circle upon earning her Doctorate in Ministry (D.Min.) in Leadership from Wesley Theological Seminary.

As a multi-Certified Professional Coach, credentialed through the International Coach Federation (ICF) as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) her style of coaching is co-active. Anchored in Positive Psychology, she sees her clients as naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. The relationship between coach and client is an alliance designed together. As the client, you set the agenda and Dr. Helen’s role, as your Coach is to create a safe place for you to deepen and forward the action to evoke transformation. She comes to the relationship with genuine curiosity supported by active and engaged listening.
