“The Respect Effect” keynote presentation was delivered by author and managing partner of Legacy Business Cultures, Paul Meshanko for the California State Board of Equalization’s Professional Development Day February 11-14, 2013. The theme of the professional development day was “Respect in the Workplace”. The California BOE was excited to explore the theme of respect with the 2,400 overall participants because, as Paul Meshanko explains:

“Respect sets the stage for engagement, promotes collaboration and inclusion, and unleashes extraordinary creativity and resilience.”

The following clip shows Meshanko discussing two of the “12 Rules of Respect” which help to lead to a more respectful workplace. Rule of Respect #8: “Allow yourself to be wrong on occasion” and Rule of Respect #9: “Never hesitate to say you are sorry”.
